Ingredients
1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese (cold, freshly grated)
¾ cup all-purpose flour
3 tablespoons cold unsalted butter, cut into cubes
1–2 tablespoons cold water (as needed)
Optional:
½ teaspoon garlic powder
½ teaspoon paprika
Sea salt, for sprinkling
Instructions
Pulse ingredients: Add flour and butter to a food processor. Pulse until crumbly. Add shredded cheese and pulse until mixture resembles coarse sand.
Form dough: Add 1–2 tablespoons cold water and pulse until the dough just comes together.
Chill: Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and chill for 30 minutes.
Roll: Roll dough out thinly (⅛ inch or less) between two pieces of parchment paper.
Cut: Use a knife or pizza cutter to create squares, or use cookie cutters for fun shapes. Prick each cracker with a fork.
Bake: Transfer to a parchment-lined baking sheet. Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 12–15 minutes or until golden and crisp.
Cool & store: Cool on a wire rack before storing in an airtight container.
Notes
Use freshly shredded cheese for best melting results.
Want extra flavor? Try adding mustard powder, herbs, or chili flakes.
To re-crisp crackers after storage, bake at 300°F for 5 minutes.
Unbaked dough can be frozen for up to 2 months.
